It lasted two years Rating:3 out of 5 stars The Panasonic ran fine, did not leave a funny residual smell like my previous Sharp microwave did. I used it several times a day for water boiling and left-over heating. But it died precisely two years and one month after purchase. What about microwave ovens that are supposed to last 5-10 years?
Panasonic has lost me!!!! Rating:2 out of 5 stars After reading all the reviews on this unit I was sure that mine would be different!!!WRONG!!! after using it for about a month both the sensor reheat and the sensor cook went haywire!!food was either cold or was so hot it was exploding all over the inside of the oven…..Panasonic were no help at all…wanted to repair it….As usual Amazon customer service stood up to their good reputation and we returned it….We are now looking again for a similar sized oven….Any suggestions Amazon shoppers?????? On the plus side this was a good looking unit apart from the clock being hard to see..and it was quiet for a while!!!!I am very disappointed in Panasonic…I have used their products for years….no more……
2 died in 3 years Rating:1 out of 5 stars This Microwave and the previous model were the perfect size, but two was enough. Two failed in 3 years in a home with 2 adults and no kids. When it did work, we loved it, but we aren’t planning on going through a microwave oven every 18 months.
A pleasant surprise. Rating:5 out of 5 stars First, lets clarify things. Amazon has the dimensions wrong.
They have:
Height: 15-15/16 inches
Length: 20-3/8 inches
Depth: 11-7/8 inches
It should be:
Height: 11-7/8 inches
Length: 20-3/8 inches
Depth: 15-15/16 inches
The LED display is not as horrific as others have made it out to be. I’m over 6 feet in height and the unit is on a cart that is several inches lower than the standard counter top. If I am standing 2 feet back from the unit, I can read it without bending down.
The door latch works perfectly well, although the unit is amazingly light and may tend to slide if you don’t have your other hand on it while pushing the latch button. I can understand that folks might prefer a handle, instead, but that would add to the cost ad detract from its appearance.
I had no trouble viewing the contents while cooking and the fact tat the light goes out when the door is open, did not prove to be a problem. I routinely leave the door open for a bit fo the moisture to dissipate, so I consider it a plus.
Food cooked very evenly, as did the defrosting process. The controls were pretty simple to figure out, without having to resort to the manual. The only thing I’d have done differently is put the sticker behind the door that describes the sensor cooking settings, above the cavity, rather than below it. It would make reading it easier.
Since this unit replaced a 24 year old 700 watt Samsung, cooking speed is obviously faster and the unit quieter. By the way, the signal beeps are loud enough for me to hear in a adjoining room with average ambient noise.
I can’t comment on the unit’s longevity, yet, but for now, I am very happy with this unit.
The door fogs up inside between the front and rear glass Rating:3 out of 5 stars The door fogs up internally. This area should be sealed. Amazon sent a replacement but the second one is also designed or manufactured incorrectly. Moisture should not be able to penetrate the door between the front and rear glass. I wrote to Panasonic support but they do not reply. Panasonic quality is getting worse. Our previous unit lasted eight years.
Good Microwave for the price Rating:4 out of 5 stars Pretty powerful for its size, price is good for the feature it has. I did not like the way the design the door release. so far its heats everything pretty evenly hopefully it will last a longtime.
Microwave Oven Rating:5 out of 5 stars My very first micro wave was a Panosonic. Lasted for years. It finally died so I replaced it with a new Panosonic
Panason NN-SN667B Microwave Oven Rating:4 out of 5 stars This microwave is very light and easily moved. It is easily programmed but the readout is a little difficult to see if your eye level is above the display. I would definitely purchase this same model again if the need arises.
I purchased this through Amazon and the delivery time was fantastic.
Buyer beware… Rating:3 out of 5 stars We had the previous (and larger) version of this microwave for many years and LOVED it! Recently, it quit working (would come on and run for about 15 sec., and then it would turn off). While investigating the problem on the internet, I discovered that the problem was fairly common, but no one had found a solution…My husband and I then began to search for a exact replacement, only to discover that the microwave that we had, and loved, was no longer being made. We found this model and it appeared to have all the features a that we wanted: 1300 Watt, inverter technology, reheat feature…
It never occurred to me that there would not be an interior light…Very irritating!!! There is a light that comes on while food is being cooked/heated, but it goes off when you open the door. In order to check the food, you have to take it out of the oven to see it. This may seem trivial, but there was no mention of the lighting issue in any of the product descriptions that we read. I might have looked further if I had known about this “deficiency.”
All other attributes of the microwave are acceptable…cooks and heats as well as its predecessor…
happy with purchase of Panasonic microwave Rating:5 out of 5 stars So far we are happy with this microwave. It is more powerful than our last one so we are still in the learning curve with it since it has a different set-up than our last one. Would not hesitate to order it again. Amazon was very good to deal with, and it came very fast as promised.
Panasonic microwave Rating:2 out of 5 stars I did quite a bit of research on microwaves after my old one died, and so far I have been impressed with the way that this one operates, although I haven’t used it for anything but warming up leftovers and making oatmeal. I like the fact that you can “power down” and the buttons and overall design are very satisfactory.
Powerful and Quiet Rating:5 out of 5 stars I had heard about Panasonic’s variable power microwave ovens, and was intrigued by the idea that finally someone figured that that was a better plan that merely turning the magnetron on and off for periods of time. Because of that feature, it will be possible to heat things faster even while using a lower power setting. Though I’ve not yet had occasion to use the lower power; rest assured I will need to eventually. I can tell you that what I do like about the oven the most is that it heats things very fast, and is much quieter than the Sharp Microwave Oven that it replaced. As I become more familiar with our new microwave, and if it is needed, I will make further commentary on the oven. Overall, I am impressed with the quality of Panasonic products, and I expect to have this microwave oven a long time.
Keypad quit after 6 weeks Rating:1 out of 5 stars I did LOTS of research to find a small but powerful MW for my new house and this looked like the one. Perfect fit, liked the looks, and worked great for 6 weeks. Amazon service was wonderful, as usual! But I came home one night to find the display showing 88:88 and the keypad nonfunctional. Panasonic customer service walked me through some troubleshooting (which I had already done), and then told me that I would have to take it to the authorized service center…an hour away. Now I will be without my MW for weeks, plus make two trips to the service center to drop-off and pick-up. They would not agree to a replacement. For the price, I am very unhappy with the results, and will not be purchasing another Panasonic product.
Panasonic warranty is the worst Rating:1 out of 5 stars We bought this microwave, and it worked for 8 months. One day we got a broken sensor message, and the microwave never turned on again. No problem, we thought. It is practically new and is still under warranty. We contacted Panasonic the next week, got approval for the free repair, and took it to their recommended service center. It is now 5 months later, I have spoken to Panasonic at least 10 times, and they have not sent the repair part. Panasonic finally offered to buy us a new microwave, but they have never sent it. When I call customer service, I repeatedly get the run around. I will NEVER buy a Panasonic microwave again. It is the single worst experience I have ever had with a company.
Screen is worthless – No Light Rating:3 out of 5 stars The unit works great, cooks evenly and is powerful. However I deduct 1 start for a terrible absolutly unreadable in all conditions display.. it lokos like it’s 8888 all the time. And I take off 1 star for not having a light inside the microwave when the door is open.
Oven works well! Rating:5 out of 5 stars This microwave oven does everything we expected of it. The reheat feature really works and is convenient. There is no need to check if the leftovers are hot enough.
good bargain Rating:4 out of 5 stars Bought this open box from Amazon’s warehouse and I was scared as to what kind of condition it would arrive in… but no problems. It was in original packaging, looks brand new, and works like a charm. My biggest gripe is the documentation – it doesn’t tell you what presets correspond to what food you’re cooking with the “sensor cook” button. On the other hand, I love the “sensor reheat” function. It works, and it works quickly due to the 1300watts. One of the best bargains I’ve ever gotten online!
Great Microwave for the price Rating:5 out of 5 stars This is an excellent buy for anyone in need of a microwave. It has plenty of power to heat/cook any food quickly and I really like the different power levels for reheating food. I have had this model for several years and bought another for a gift to my daughter and son in law.
The Door Opener Did Not Work Rating:1 out of 5 stars I purchased this microwave to replace and older version of the same machine. The reason for the replacement was that the old machine had rusted. I did a lot of research and even though my experience with the older model had not been good; it rusted severely after 3 years of use, Consumer Reports had given this model a good review.
The machine arrived in a timely fashion. Unfortunately this new model does not have a door handle but instead a latch release system which did not work. No matter how many times I pushed it the door would not open.
While I received a full refund, sending back a peice of equipment of that size was cumbersome.
Died in two months Rating:1 out of 5 stars I paid extra for what I thought would be a good name. It wasn’t worth it. It just stopped heating. It makes noise, spins, lights, but nothing gets warm. It’s being fixed, under warranty, BUT… I had to drive over an hour to the service center (and will have to do the same in two weeks or so when it’s ready to be picked up), they gave me a hard time for having a “screen shot” of the proof of purchase from Amazon, AND I’d have to be without a microwave for two weeks or more.
When it was working, it was decent, but, as others have written, it’s annoying that the light doesn’t come on when the door is opened. Also, from time to time, the turntable binds for no apparent reason.
I’d expect more for $130. I just bought a slightly smaller stainless steel GE from Lowe’s for $90 which I like much better. Oh, well.
Behaving quite excellently. Rating:5 out of 5 stars Indeed excellent, with no problems at all. The 1300-watt power is a welcome step-up from my older 1000-watt oven. But the best part is that one can leave the door open when not in use, and the light is *not on*. A great enemy of microwaves is rust. People close the door when finished with the oven, mostly to save the electricity and bulb. (Try replacing a microwave bulb!) Now when I reheat my tea and tea water, several times a day, NO PROBLEME!
good microwave Rating:4 out of 5 stars Great at cooking solid foods, ok at cooking liquids and suspension foods. The auto cook feature does not work that good. Plenty of cooking space. Overall good, but not great microwave.
Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine Rating:3 out of 5 stars This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.
Problems:
1.) The display is polarized, so you can’t view it from an angle above 45 degrees. This is not a problem from several feet away, but standing next to the microwave on the counter I need to bend down to see the display.
Until I have the microwave memorized I will always need to bend over to set the microwave. This is not a problem on my old Panasonic.
2.) As noted in other reviews the interior lights only when the microwave is on, not when the door is open.
Good Aspects:
1.) This replaces a 15 year old Panasonic microwave of the same size which was making noise, although still working. This microwave is almost twice as fast, nearly silent, weighs half as much, and is good looking.
2.) After years of using Panasonic moisture sensor cooking I would never buy any other brand until they can replicate this feature.
I would return this microwave except it appears all Panasonic microwaves currently have the same type of display. Hopefully Panasonic fixes this problem in future models.
For $130 I’ll use this microwave until Panasonic replaces this horrible display on future models.

Panasonic NN-H965BF Luxury Full-Size 2.2-Cubic-Foot 1,250-Watt Microwave Oven, Black
I own the predecessor to this model, the H964. It’s the 2nd Panansonic microwave of this size that we’ve bought–in just 3 years. The first lasted 1 1/2 years and had to be repaired once. The second died three weeks after the warranty period. After literally 8 calls to Panasonic customer service (asking for the serial number, calling back with it, etc etc.) they agreed to at least cover the cost of a repair estimate (they eventually paid for the entire repair cost).
The problem was that the fuse had died. The authorized repair facilitiy told me that the only microwaves they ever get for repair are Panasonics; he said the problem is that to reduce their weight, they use smaller parts, like the tubes, which can’t handle the load for long. He also said that their fuses don’t last.
The repair person recommended either Sharp or Sanyo as much longer lasting. I checked the weight of a similar-sized Sharp and saw that it weighed about 6 pounds more than the Panasonic–presumably because some parts are heftier.
When this newly-repaired Panasonic dies again, it will be long out of warranty and then we’ll try our luck with a Sharp. Replacing a microwave every 18-20 months is not my idea of money well spent.
Great microwave for 1.2 cf Rating:4 out of 5 stars We’d prefer a larger unit, but this one fits in the cabinet space with enough room for ventilation. The 1300 watts is very nice, and cooks or reheats food much quicker than our old 1000 watt Panasonic [which finally died after 11 hard-use years]. The controls are basic, and simple to use, and the build seems durable. Be aware, however, that the unit ships in its own box, and our first unit was pretty well banged-up. Amazon is wonderfully easy with returns, however, and the replacement arrived quickly.

Style changes make it not as friendly Rating:4 out of 5 stars We bought this as a replacement for a previous model, the 665B I believe, one of which died out of the blue after two years, and then two years later the replacement died again, but this time was from a plastic bag falling behind it and blocking the air intake.
This newer version is almost the same as our earlier one — same dimensions (or very close, which was crucial to us) and the same button operation, but the door has been changed. Instead of having a black handle on the door that you just pull open, you have to push a door-open button, and THEN open the door, which is inconvenient and annoying.
Overall, though, we’re happy with it. We don’t use the sophisticated features very often, though they are nice; over 90% of the time, we just use the basic time-cook on full power. The Quick Minute (add-a-minute) button gets used a lot and is much faster than keying in a time. Let’s just hope this one lasts longer than the previous two Panasonics, but at least the price is right.

So far so good Rating:4 out of 5 stars I’ve had this microwave oven for approx one month so far. I have not experimented with the programmable defrost feature yet. Otherwise, the basic functions work well and I have had no trouble at all with this oven. It is somewhat light in weight, so it may occasionaly push back on the counter when you push the button to open the door. This could vary depending on how slick of a surface you set it on. I would buy again with confidence. I am an electrical engineer, so I am typically quick to spot obvious defects in design or build.
Piece of JUNK!! Rating:1 out of 5 stars I had this microwave a little over a year and a 1/2 and it just died suddenly. I read reviews with similar complaints AFTER buying this unit and i remember thinking to myself “I HOPE mine will be different!!” Unfortunately, it was not. AVOID the 1300Watt Panasonic Microwaves!!! I do not know the cause of failure, however, the failure rate seems to be very high after the warranty period runs out!!!!
Very Nice Microwave – Lacks just a couple little things Rating:4 out of 5 stars This is a very powerful unit, 30% faster than our old one. it is working quite well after 3 weeks and we are happy. We hope it stays reliable.
I wish it lit up inside when you open the door. As a consolation a light does shine inside when its cooking, but that doesn’t help when you go to grab a hot dish.
I also wish the door opened more than 90°. Our old microwave opened 180° so it was well out of the way. Very handy.

Nice! Rating:5 out of 5 stars This is our third Panasonic microwave. We really like the size and appearance but buy this product for the inverter feature. Good value for the price.
panasonic NN-SN667B microwave Rating:4 out of 5 stars This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out. So far it seems to work very well. It’s quieter than the previous mmodel and a little smaller for outside dimensions while the interior capacuty is the same as the old model. The inverter technology seems to work well for defrosting, much better than previous microwaves I’ve owned, and the sensor reheat and cook work very well also. My only complaint is that to use the sensor cook you key in a number from 1-9, but nowhere in the instructions does it explain what number corresponds to what type of food you are cooking. There are less expensive microwaves out there with similar features except for the inverter technolgy, but in my opinion it’s worth the extra.

I’d expect more for $130. I just bought a slightly smaller stainless steel GE from Lowe’s for $90 which I like much better. Oh, well.
Behaving quite excellently.

Indeed excellent, with no problems at all. The 1300-watt power is a welcome step-up from my older 1000-watt oven. But the best part is that one can leave the door open when not in use, and the light is *not on*. A great enemy of microwaves is rust. People close the door when finished with the oven, mostly to save the electricity and bulb. (Try replacing a microwave bulb!) Now when I reheat my tea and tea water, several times a day, NO PROBLEME!
good microwave

Great at cooking solid foods, ok at cooking liquids and suspension foods. The auto cook feature does not work that good. Plenty of cooking space. Overall good, but not great microwave.
Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.

Great microwave for 1.2 cf

We’d prefer a larger unit, but this one fits in the cabinet space with enough room for ventilation.

Style changes make it not as friendly

We bought this as a replacement for a previous model, the 665B I believe, one of which died out of the blue after two years, and then two years later the replacement died again, but this time was from a plastic bag falling behind it and blocking the air intake.

Great Performance So Far

So far this microwave has performed great. It had the most power for its size I could find. This was replacement for same model used for 5 yrs before it began being quite slow – taking 30-50% longer to cook

I’ve had this microwave oven for approx one month so far.

I had this microwave a little over a year and a 1/2 and it just died suddenly.
Very Nice Microwave – Lacks just a couple little things
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a very powerful unit, 30% faster than our old one. it is working quite well after 3 weeks and we are happy.
Very handy.

It’s fast, easy to operate, and it has some outstanding features like the sensor reheat and sensor cook functions. The keep warm function is pretty cool too.

Microwave works great with very high power. My only complaint is that the inside light does not come on with door open, only during cook cycle.

This is our third Panasonic microwave. We really like the size and appearance but buy this product for the inverter feature. Good value for the price.
panasonic NN-SN667B microwave

This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out.
