Microwave Rating:4 out of 5 stars This microwave is alright. The door is a little “Sticky”. It’s always hard to open and close. It has a great look and is easy to clean and operate. The door is the only thing that I have a problem with.
good choice Rating:5 out of 5 stars i bought this emerson microwave and all i gotta say is awesome great deal for a great product! no complaints very impressed thank you!
Died after 1.5 years Rating:1 out of 5 stars I was surprised ours died so soon. The timer still works, so we have big piece of metal that can count down but that’s it. No more Emerson products for us. My college dorm microwave oven lasted 7 years!
My first impressions… Rating:4 out of 5 stars I did a lot of research before buying a microwave, then went to Sears and Best Buy, and neither one had the models in stock that I wanted. I needed a small (1 cubic ft or smaller) countertop microwave to replace the Panasonic 800 watt one we’d had since 1994, which just died (Feb. 2010). Unfortunately, the current small Panasonic model can only be purchased online, has a dial that I wanted to see before buying, and costs c. $120 plus shipping …
For some reason, Consumer Reports doesn’t rate small countertop microwaves; not sure why, since every one I looked up online had 1/4 to 1/3 of reviews about how they broke after a few months. After all this research, I promised myself I’d write in about whatever I chose, because I was getting really discouraged (I also had terrible luck replacing our toaster oven this year, so I’m really down on small appliances right now!).
Meanwhile our family really needs a new microwave. So I went to Target and looked at their options. I liked this Emerson because a lot of the smaller MWs are flimsy and move around on the shelf when you open or shut the door, but this one is sturdier. (Also, an Emerson larger model, not this one, had gotten a good review in Consumer Reports last year.)
So far all I’ve done is made water for tea to test the MW. My kids and I mostly heat milk or heat up frozen food, maybe a few times a week; I don’t cook in it. I like the fact that you can just press the “2″ and the MW cooks on high for 2 minutes without pressing any other buttons. Also like the 30-second button. We won’t be using the other buttons, as I always find it’s better to microwave by the package directions or by testing for doneness.
Another thing I like is that the MW is very quiet when it’s on — compared to my old 1994 MW, which didn’t rattle, but made a loud humming noise and beeped too many times when it was done. I wish it were white rather than stainless steel, which smudges easily, especially when used by kids. (It’s also small enough to fit the microwave cart we have, and I like the guard sticking out in the back that keeps the MW from touching the wall behind it.)
I’ll write again if/when it breaks down … just wanted to give my first impressions while I had the time. (And I’m not giving it a 5 because it’s only a day old and hasn’t proven itself yet!)
This Microwave Oven Sucks Rating:1 out of 5 stars I bought this two years ago. It worked great up until last weekend when the turn-platter stopped working. You get what you pay for.
Cheap product, heats, but instructions are not clear Rating:1 out of 5 stars So i just got this microwave oven today from target, i come home set it up, and when i looked in the cooking cavity i see this piece of cardboard that looks like if its only meant to be there for packaging. I pulled it out and then i realize it was not a piece of cardboard but instead a mica paper shield thing, which the microwave needs to operate properly.
I MEAN COME ON! i know they are trying to save some money so that they can push out a very low cost product, BUT DONT LET CRITICAL COMPONENTS APPEAR AS IF THEY ARE PART OF THE PACKAGING cause someone might make the mistake i did more often than not. Other companies add a screw to secure this wave guard shield i have learned. SO right now i am annoyed because of their lack of instructions i might have ruined this microwave.
And sure it was cheap, but i am not going to be tossing over 70 bucks just for the heck of it, mean even taking this one back to the store seems like such a choir right now UGH!.
Microwave that won’t last long Rating:2 out of 5 stars I bought this microwave about a year ago and that is how long it lasted. It was didn’t always heat evenly. The microwave was a noise as you can get. It made a loud noise when you opened, closed, while heating and when finish heating food. If you are looking for a microwave to reheat food and don’t care that this won’t last more than a year then this microwave is serviceable. Otherwise spend the extra money and get a better microwave so you don’t have to repurchase one every year.
Good and rightly priced Rating:5 out of 5 stars Me and mt friend share a room and we rush in the mornings and we need a oven for cereals, milk and bread and also sometimes pizza. We really love the ONE TOUCH operations, kind of scary for a day or two, but it fits my morning schedule!!
This does the job perfectly and there are no complaints so far, since we bought this.
It may not fit in a big pizza, but it will suffice for most of the daily utilities.
You have a one year warranty, just in case, but I guess you are fine without it!!
We were considering the red one, but my partner choose the black one, all same except the features.
Excellent microwave! Rating:5 out of 5 stars My family really likes this microwave. Easy to use and cooks the food good! Love the stainless steel color. Good buy at a reasonable price. Fits the budget. Will buy one again when our oldest goest to college.
