I almost returned this microwave because the defrost function sounded, from the manual, so inconvenient to use. However, defrosting turned out to be much better than implied by the manual. I’m finding it to be very well designed and well-functioning. My only complaint is about the lighting. The clock is not back-lit,making it difficult to see, and the lighting inside the oven is not bright enough. Also, there is a mica plate on the inside wall of the oven chamber which is delicate and not cleanable. I think it should be protected somehow.

Great cover for microwave. No need to use plastic wrap or paper towels that move around etc. … especially for soup and eggs tend to “exploid and spatter over the interior of the microwave oven!

THIS MICRO-WAVE HAS A CLOCK THAT’S NOT ILLUMINATED, AND THE CAROUSEL

LIGHT DOESN’T GO ON WHEN OPENING THE DOOR !!!! ONLY ON WHILE MICRO

IS ACTUALLY TURNING, THEN SHUTS OFF BEFORE YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE

OVEN..I HAD TO PUT THIS MICRO NEAR THE SUNLIGHT, BUT AT NIGHT EVEN

WITH MY KITCHEN LIGHTS ON YOU MUST STAND NO FURTHER THAN 2 FEET AWAY

TO VIEW CLOCK CLEARLY. (I HAVE 20/20 VISION). I FIND IT ABSURD THAT

SOMEONE WOULD EVEN MANUFACTURE A MICRO-WAVE WITHOUT THESE TWO MOST

IMPORTANT FEATURES..OBVIOUSLY I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING

Better than a microwave

Okay, this little powerhouse warms my bagel and melts butter and boils water and so forth, but this weekend, it saved my life too

I went to the grocery store at 8:30 p.m. for a turkey to serve at 1:00 the next day. The package said it would take 3-4 days to defrost! Threw it in my “microwave” on the compu-defrost setting, and it defrosted my turkey lickity split. Then I figured out I wasn’t going to have room for the rolls, potatoes, stuffing, green beans, etc., in the oven. So the next day, 90 minutes before mealtime, I threw this poor abused bird into my Sharp, and put it on the compu-roast setting. It was the best turkey we’ve ever had…crispy skin, tender juicy white and dark meat, and when everyone said “how did you do it?” and I pointed to the microwave…well…I looked like the chef o’ the century and it was all thanks to my Sharp Microwave.
